Mira Mann is a writer and musician. With her work she explores the performative possibilities of spoken and written word in the borderlands between text, body and music. With the formation of her first band candelilla (2001 - 2017), she positions her work in the context of subculture and (pop) music. Mann has published three volumes of poetry with the Cologne-based poetry publisher Parasitenpresse: Gedichte der Angst (2019), Komm einfach (2021), Kontrolle (2023). For "Kontrolle" she has also developed an independent form for publication in the magazine "Das Wetter - Magazin für Text und Musik" (VÖ 2022). Her writing starts with her body, locates itself radically vulnerable in the border area of power and powerlessness.

After the breakup of her band candelilla, she releases her music under her clear name Mira Mann: Ich mag das (2019, Problembär), Schau mich an (2021, Problembär), Atlantic City (2022, Staatsakt), weich (2023, Euphorie). Mann works with rotating producers on her vibrant, physical musical pieces. On the two larger works with theater composer Ludwig Abraham, but also with Martin Brugger from Munich or Viennese producers Wolfgang Lehmann. She has toured several times in German-speaking countries, showing her work at the Pop Kultur Festival Berlin, the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Volksbühne Berlin, Waves Vienna in Austria and the One of a Million Festivals in Switzerland, among others.
